SETUP WIZARD

Our Setup Wizard renders the code you need to implement a specific JW Player 5 setup. It’s also a useful tool to experiment to see what's possible with the player. Roll over a variable to see its tooltip or check this page for more explanations. To set up a JW Player 4 configuration, please use the previous wizard.

1: Select an Example Setup

2: Change Your Flashvars

3: Preview Your Player

You need Flash Player 9 and a browser with JavaScript!

4: Copy Your Code*

Below is the embed code for this setup. For HTML5 failover, and to use more advanced JavaScript interaction, use the JW Embedder. You can also embed the player using SWFObject, a lightweight JavaScript-based Flash embedder.

<object classid='clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000' width='470' height='320' id='single1' name='single1'>
<param name='movie' value='player.swf'>
<param name='allowfullscreen' value='true'>
<param name='allowscriptaccess' value='always'>
<param name='wmode' value='transparent'>
<param name='flashvars' value='file=http://www.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3DHIrMIeN5ttE'>
<embed
  id='single2'
  name='single2'
  src='player.swf'
  width='470'
  height='320'
  bgcolor='#000000'
  allowscriptaccess='always'
  allowfullscreen='true'
  flashvars='file=http://www.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3DHIrMIeN5ttE'
/>
</object>

Below is the SWFObject 1.5 code for this setup. For HTML5 failover, and to use more advanced JavaScript interaction, use the JW Embedder. For sites which may not allow the use of JavaScript, use simple embed code.

<script type='text/javascript' src='swfobject.js'></script>

<div id='mediaspace'>This text will be replaced</div>

<script type='text/javascript'>
  var so = new SWFObject('player.swf','ply','470','320','9','#000000');
  so.addParam('allowfullscreen','true');
  so.addParam('allowscriptaccess','always');
  so.addParam('wmode','opaque');

  so.addVariable('file','http://www.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3DHIrMIeN5ttE');
  so.write('mediaspace');
</script>

Below is the JW Embedder code for this setup, which is needed for advanced features such as the JavaScript API and HTML5 playback. If you'd like to use a more lightweight JavaScript embedder, you can embed the player using SWFObject. For sites which may not allow the use of JavaScript, use simple embed code.

<script type='text/javascript' src='jwplayer.js'></script>

<div id='mediaspace'>This text will be replaced</div>

<script type='text/javascript'>
  jwplayer('mediaspace').setup({
    'flashplayer': 'player.swf',
    'file': 'http://www.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3DHIrMIeN5ttE',
    'controlbar': 'bottom',
    'width': '470',
    'height': '320'
  });
</script>

*Please note: this example setup uses a file called player.swf (and, in some cases, swfobject.js or jwplayer.js) that is hosted on our servers. You need to download your own copy of the JW Player (jwplayer.js and swfobject.js are included in the download) and place it on your own server -- then change the link(s) in this example so they point to the file(s) on your server.
